'Resilience at Play' program
OVERVIEW:

We have built an accredited, award winning and evidence-based social-emotional intelligence PD program for early education centres. It is called the 'resilience @ play' program.
The 'resilience @ play' program is specifically designed to further develop executive functioning. Supporting the child's brain with the process of regulating attention, thought, emotion, motivation and behaviour.

Our 'resilience @ play' program includes several options for the early education centre:

1. Two Day booking (for regional/rural centres) - Full day Staff/Parent training workshop (6 hours) PLUS Full day of resilience @ play incursions (with children and staff).
2.One or Two Term booking: Staff training workshop (1-2 hours) PLUS 8 x (60 min) resilience @ play incursions (with children and staff). Also includes a staff training package: lesson plans, staff resources, parent resources, equipment, props and the ZenEd license.
3.One Year booking: Staff and Parent training workshop (1-2 hours) PLUS 16 x (60 min) resilience @ play incursions (for children). Also includes a staff training package; lesson plans, staff resources, parent resources, equipment, props and the ZenEd license.

The 'Resilience @ Play' staff (and parents) training workshops (1-2 hours) are engaging and informative, offering practical strategies that can be used by educators and parents to support resilience & wellbeing in both their own lives and the children they support.

The 'Resilience @ Play' incursions (with children and staff) teaches children practical strategies to build personal resilience and school readiness. A wide range of engaging and structured play-based learning activities are used to enrich the learning experience e.g. Mindfulness, Physicality (yoga, dance etc), Indigenous Perspectives, Music, Literacy, Science/STEM, Drama and ART.

The 'Resilience at Play' program uses 4 main topics to improve the child's social-emotional intelligence:

1.Regulation: the ability to regulate thoughts/emotions.
2.Awareness: the ability to recognise thoughts/emotions and personal/family values.
3.Inquiry: the ability to choose responsive behaviour (instead of reactive behaviour) to uncomfortable thoughts/emotions.
4.Nuturing connections: the ability to recognise thoughts/emotions in others and build strong connections with compassionate behaviour and communication.

Additional benefits:
5.School readiness
6.Brain health outcomes in kindergarten, school and adulthood.

The 'Resilience @ Play' program has been accredited and approved by the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and the Department of Education.
The 'Resilience @ Play' program has direct links to the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
